What Causes Persistent Low Grade Fever In An Elderly Person?
My Mom is 91 and is running a low grade fever and has leg pain, it started with her left thigh area. I little bit less aware than usual also. She was in the drs friday for regular check up and no UAT infection. Not sure what is going on with her. this started on Sunday around 10 am.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Fever is a common symptom in many conditions. Most commonly in old age people prone for UTI, pneumonia, malaria and viral flu etc. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Use tablet Paracetamol thrice a day for five days. If symptoms not improved please consult your physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
