What Causes Persistent Intermittent Chills?

Hi Doctor, In the last couple of months, intermittently I feel very chill when all others look very comfortable in normal whether. Apparently, there is no fever. I will be OK after an hour or so. I am 58 years old and always was very active. It all started in gym when a particular type of exercise turned out to be very intensive and put me down twice in two months with high fever and fatigue. The doctors prescribed some antibiotics and overcame fever. But the chill is persisting causing lot of distress. Please advise what the remedy for this condition & how long will this stay? Thank you, Ravi, INDIA

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Persistent intermitent chills for two months and history of fever. Fever subsided but chills continued, that means either problem was not cured or diagnosis was incorrect. Now if i have to treat such a patient i will advice some investigations like hb, tlc, dlc, esr, mp, blood culture for gram negative and gram positive, urine routine, urine culture and sensitivity , and chest xray .After all investigations some cause will be found and i will advice to have complete treatment so that cause is eradicated.
