What Causes Persistant Neck Pain And Sleeplessness?

Prolonged neck pain, I have purchased new pillows twice, the expensive ones. Borderline migraines and migraines, I know it s not my sinuses because I m just coming off 10 days of anti-biotics, feeling nauseous alot. Very tired and run down feeling, that I can t seem to shake. Not sleeping well, but that s not unusual. I am on several meds, including morphine and a sleep medication. Can long term use of a narcotic have these negative side affects or should I be concerned about something else. I m going to be losing my health insurance soon, along with my husband s income and don t want to rack up a bunch of medical bills. Thanks

Hello,

Persistent neck pain is commonly caused by Poor posture during sitting, walking or sleeping. It can be due to working for long hours on PC or laptop. Take breaks between work and always maintain correct posture. Medical conditions that cause persistent neck pain are cervical spondylosis, arthritis, slip discs, whiplash, muscle strain. You are suggested to get clinically examined by an orthopedic doctor, get the required investigations and imaging tests done. You will be treated accordingly.

In the meantime, you can take pain relieving medicines like Combiflam or Naproxen to ease discomfort. Sleeplessness is commonly a side effect of certain medicines like morphine, antidepressants, etc. Medicines when used for a long time can cause side effects that is not good for a heathy body. Medicines should only be taken when needed. The rest of the time your immune system will do the work. Stay well hydrated and well fed. Lead a healthy lifestyle. Stay away from stress and addictions if any. Enjoy nature and do regular walking and exercises.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
