What Causes Pelvic Pain During Intercourse?

I have been having pelvic pain for over a year which increase two weeks after my period and intensifies badly during sex and my period. I have a reduced appetite, bloating and a foul smell two weeks before my period that I never used to get. I finally bit the billet and went to see my doctor two weeks ago. She sent me for a scan (internal) and did a triple swab. I got the results today. The swabs have come back clear. When I asked what the scan had shown she said it said my endometrium measure 7mm but there was a build up of fluid in my uterus toward my left ovary. She asked where I was in my cycle when I went for the scan and I said day 18 with my period normally coming day 35. She then said she didn t think it was anything significant but that she would ask another colleague and get back to me. I am not overly concerned because if it was something to worry about she would surely have rung that colleague there and then. But I am a little anxious now that I have read a bit about fluid in the uterus. Please could you out my mind at rest, or at least give me some answers as to what may be causing this fluid and pain I am experiencing. Thank you in advance

Hi! after going through all your problems and clinical history, I could say that there is nothing to worry about your pain.

Apparently it is a sign of pelvic inflammatory disease but your swab test is negative. Free fluid/blood is common in the uterus as this is early secretory phase but I suspect endometriosis / adenomyosis in your case that might cause all the symptoms you mentioned.

Therefore, see a general physician for clinical examination and also a serum CA-125 test and revert back to us.
