What Causes Peeling Of Tongue And Suggest Treatment?

Hi. My boyfriend says his tongue is peeling. It happened for about a week then stopped for a couple of days but is now peeling again. He said he hasn't burn it or eaten anything strange that's hes aware of but admits his tongue is slightly yellow/white. What do u think is causing it? And what should he do?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain white coating on tongue along with peeling can be due to Oral Yeast infection also known as Oral Thrush..
In case if it is not the layer that is peeling off and if the tongue mucosa is peeling it can be due to causes like Dry mouth, side effects of medicines, excess intake of sour foods, acid reflux etc..
I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation can help in diagnosis and treatment can be planned accordingly.
In case if it is due to Thrush antifungal medicines like Nystatin mouthwash and clotrimazole lozenges along with abundance of intake of probt like Yoghurt can relieve..
In case if mucous is peeling you can start taking Vitamin B complex and also treatment of underlying cause will relieve the symptoms..
