What Causes Palpitations?

I am 40 years old and the issue that I face is increase in heartbeat occasionally. This makes me scared most of the time. I underwent TNT, Echo, Holter test etc in first of this year and March and the results were fine. I have Lonazep 0.25 as SOS medicine and this week I met with a cardiologist who said I can take nebistar 2.5 for short duration though he also said it s not fully necessary for me to take it. I wanted to check if I can take Lonazep 0.25 also during any episode of high heartbeat?
