What Causes Painful Swelling In Ankles And Foot In A Diabetic Patient?

I have been experiencing severe swelling in my ankles and feet. I do have Type II diabetes and am taking glyb-metformin for that. I have been on several BP medications for several years. The swelling in my ankles and feet has become quite painful by evening the last few days.

Swelling in ankle and foot suggest two things.
1. Your sugar is not under control. So get your fating and post lunch blood sugar today. This will give us clear picture about your blood sugar.
2. Second chance is that you may be having high blood pressure which can cause edema in feet.
