What Causes Painful Cramps In The Thighs And Foot?

I had really painful cramps in my thigh, front of leg and foot last night. Woke me up out of sleep and I tried to walk on it, but it was so painful. Then I rested my head and leaned on the sink and the next thing I knew I was on the floor. Sweating and cramps and really hot.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

It seems to be muscular spasm with no other associated symptoms. It may be fibromyalgia, it is a kind of functional disorders. The main causes would be stress, anxiety, and depression. So try to come out of this. If I would be a doctor of this case, then I would try to treat this with Tab Gabapentin, three times in a day. You have given very little information with no age mentioned.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
