What Causes Painful Bumps Inside The Lips And Gums?
Lesions on inside of lips and gums. Previously diagnosed as herpes. This happened after dental care that mashed lips badly. Have been to two MD s. EENT and inturnist. Where could I go to get some help. Have taken Medrol dose pac and antiviral drugs. This is very painfull condition. This has gotten much better and then it flares back up almost as bad as first time. I don t know where to go next. This has been going on since the second week in November
I think the symptoms that you are having are not due to viral infection bit it can be Apthous ulcers or Canker sores which are also commonly known as mouth ulcers. They can also be severe at times and cause severe pain and burning sensation. I would like to know how was the diagnosis made, did you undergo investigations like blood tests to confirm viral infection? Also I would like to know that is there any specific pattern in which the sores occur? You should also get tested for Vitamin B12 levels and Haemoglobin percentage. I would also like to see an image of the sores for a better view of your problem. You can send the following answers so that I can guide you towards most appropriate treatment.. For now to reduce pain you can do Lignocaine mouthwash gargle. Take Vitamin B complex and lysine supplements. Do warm saline gargle.
Hope this information helps..
Regards.
