What Causes Pain In The Upper Back On The Right Side?
after eating I get a gradual upper back ache on my left side. It becomes more intense as time goes on. Yesterday was the the first day it happened and resulted in vomiting after which there was relief of discomfort. The ache began again today. I have no gallbladder.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
Upper back pain you have seems to be due to digestive deficiency, i.e. deficiency of bile (fat and fat soluble vitamins digestion and absorption), this leads to excess gas formation after eating, which floats up and irritates diaphragm to cause pain).
Consultation of gastroenterologist for fruitful replacement of digestive hormones would help.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
