What Causes Pain In The Lower Back Along With Headache?

I have been exercising more regularly riding a stationary bike for an hour a day. I have also been eating healthy food and cutting out caffeine, diet coke. My lower back has been hurting periodically and last night my hips hurt so bad it woke me up. I had a bad headache on Friday. I am tired and have been taking a nap on weekends when I am home. Is this anything to be concerned with. At times I feel exhausted, but not every day. I am 53 years old.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The headache could be due to any acute viral illness.
Keep well hydrated. Take magnesium supplement and paracetamol for the pain.

If still no improvement, should consult further with your physician and run a few diagnostic tests (complete blood count, urine analysis, liver/kidney function test, etc.)

Hope this helps.
