General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Minor pain is normal due to rupture of ovarian follicle and release from the ovarian surface giving stretching pain from nerve endings involvement.
Significant amount of pain disturbing normal work may indicate possible endometriosis, ovarian cyst or pelvic inflammatory issues; in which case an ultrasound of the abdomen and pelvis is the primary need to proceed.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Purva Patel,
