What Causes Pain In The Hips And Buttocks?

I have pain in my left hip /buttocks/groin area x-ray didn't show anything what can be causing the pain? very painful to walk gets worse as the day goes on, if I do nothing but sit most of the time it doesn't bother me, bending or moving it in general doesn't hurt.

Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
The cause of your pain may be due to problem with your muscles, reduced gap between your spinal discs, reduced bone density or degeneration at hip joint, abdominal organ pathologies like hernia and infections involving urinary bladder and surrounding areas etc.
In your case i must say first proper physical examination is must then first investigation of choice is xray lumbosacral spine and hip joint to rule out bony problems.
Secondly, an abdominal ultrasound will be required to rule out internal organ pathologies and Urine RE to rule out infection.
Even if you have all these investigations normal then MRI will be beneficial to rule out pathologies depending upon your severity of symptoms.
