What Causes Pain In The Hips After Taking A Morning After Pill?
Hi Doctor, I took the morning after pill two months ago. The next day I had really bad hip pain and tightening. I was tested for everything and had nothing. I had urine samples with an infection but no culture. I have a history of gallbladder polyps one that is 7mm and the rest that are smaller. What could the morning after pill trigger? I have sharp pain around my belly, then it radiated to all areas. I feel bruised. The worst pain is my back where I fee like my bones are so tight and rubbing together
1. As these could be ADR [adverse drug reaction] of the morning-after pill, although everything came back normal make sure to get an appointment with an OBG/GYN doctor to exclude ectopic pregnancy.
2. Sometimes an untreated urine infection can result in Interstitial cystitis [IC], [and one of the symptoms is the pelvic pain] so it will be a good idea to follow up with your attending doctor regarding detailed medical history, pelvic examination, and necessary investigation. [cystoscopy, biopsy, urine cytology]
PS. The urine culture can be done and antibiotic can be given according to sensitivity.
3. check with ultrasonography of abdomen for any other underlying pathology [it could be a gallbladder pain [cholecystitis].
