What Causes Pain In The Breast Bone While Suffering From Gastritis?

I have been diagnosed with gastritis. I am currently experiencing mild pain and discomfort in my breastbone area below my neck. Also I have a little neck tightness. I have a heavy feeling in my sternum or at the top part of my chest but Neath my neck. It is uncomfortable but I m not sure if it has to do with the gastritis or acid reflux..

Hello. Thanks for asking on Healthcaremagic. Gastritis associated with mild reflux causes heartburn which actually is discomfort under the sternum. It is advisable to start proton pump inhibitors and antacids after consulting a physician and the problem might just vanish. A physically active life is a must and associated avoidance of fried and fatty food will help. Sometimes tea or coffee also exacerbates gastritis. Thanks
