What Causes Pain In The Armpit While Coughing?

I guess I am wondering about armpit pain when coughing. This has been ongoing for the past 3 months or so. Whenever I cough I have pain in that area, I am guessing a lymph node issue or something?? I am a 36 year old male, have not been sick recently, no significant health history, on no medications, 6 1 tall, and weigh about 170 pounds. Any thoughts???

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

First of all, it's sad to know what you had been going through lately. Based on the history you have shared, you immediately need to get yourself examined by a medical specialist and get your basic lab tests done.

If it's lymph node then it needs extensive workup like Xrays and CT scans and another possibility is it's just muscular pain and may be relieved by muscle relaxants.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
