Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had ongoing stomach/abdominal/back pain that has been going on for a while. I have IBS, I guess, but I didn t ask the doctor about It, because I was embarrassed. It seems to be getting worse. I ve done a lot of research and recently had a CT scan done after an accident. I got a copy of the CT scans and it looks like there are worms in my intestine. Is there any way I could send a few images of what I m seeing, so you (whoever) can just tell me if they look normal? I m thinking the doctor might have missed it because he wasn t looking for it.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Worms seeing in CT scan by a normal individual is impossible. I am not the radiologist and I only find difficult to read a CT. Whatever you might be seeing would be intestinal loop only.
If you are so scared then you can get it reported by any radiologist of your locality and seek their second opinion.
But for now, if you have worms in the stool then only you will have worms in the intestine. Proper medical history is required for assessment.
IBS is a disease of mind and body where nothing could be found but pains occur due to mental problems. First, heal your mind with yoga, meditation, exercises. All problems of yours will be sorted out.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Archana
