What Causes Pain In Scrotum And Thighs?

hey,

I started having pain in my scrotum about 7 weeks ago. In the beginning, i didn't care about it but the pain became more and more irritating with the passage of time. About 4 weeks ago i went to see my GP. He said it is something related to epididimys. He gave me diclofenacnatrium (ant-inflamation) tables but i am still feeling lot of irritation, and mild pain in my scrotum, minor pain in testicles (mostly on right side), and sometime very mild pain in thighs. I again visited GP and he said the pain should have gone away by now. He recommended to see a specialist but i am going to Pakistan next week and can make an early appointment with a specialist here in Netherlands. Do i need to take it serious? I am planning to visit Pakistan with this pain because the pain is mild. This mild pain is always there but i am doing my routine daily tasks. However, if i walk a lot or sit in front of computer for more than 3 hours, then i feel it more. Please advise asap.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.
Thanks for your query, read and understood your problems.

Scrotal pains - 7 weeks- epididymitis - diclofenac - pain irritating in the scrotum and the thigh -going to abroad - Pakistan - shall see Specialist ?

With this history I would recommend the following:
First of all get an appointment with the Urologist and till them get the following tests done so that Urologist will be in a position to help for the final diagnosis and a plan for the further treatment:
Urine- routine, microscopy, culture and sensitivity.
Blood - routine , sugar, urea and creatinine.
Ultrasonography of the abdomen and the scrotum with Color Doppler study of the scrotum.

All these tests will help for the differential diagnosis like Epididymitis / Orchitis or combination of both ; Varicocele; hernia with neurological or sensory pain.

Once seen and confirmed by your Urologist, you can have the perfect diagnosis and treatment.

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Read and understood your history and problems.
The pain in the scrotum due to epididymitis needs investigations.
You were given only anti-inflammatory and no antibiotics at all. May be this is the practice in Netherlands.
I would advise you to start the proper treatment and investigate at the earliest or this becomes almost un-treatable as it is already 7 weeks you say:::
Urine- Culture and sensitivity, routine and microscopy before the antibiotic is started.
Tests of blood for sugar, STD, urea and creatinine
Color doppler with Ultrasonography of the scrotum and abdomen for genito-urinary system
-Get started on a long term course of an antibiotic and anti-inflammatory medicines,
Scrotal support
plenty of oral fluids.
