General & Family Physician, Dr. Priyanka's Response
Hi,
Pain in the palatopharyngeal arch and blood in mucus can be caused by various conditions. You may have an infection in the area, such as pharyngitis or tonsillitis. The green color of your mucus could indicate a bacterial infection.
Other possible causes of blood in the mucus include a nosebleed or sinusitis. It is important to see a healthcare provider to get an accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment. They may recommend antibiotics or other medications depending on the underlying cause. Additionally, they may recommend ways to relieve your pain, such as over-the-counter pain relievers or throat lozenges.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Priyanka, General & Family Physician
