What Causes Pain In Mid Back Along With Bad Smelling Bowels?

symptoms. once a week to 10 days... i get pudding like stools that smell rancid. before i changed to gluten free foods... i was severely bloated (almost looked like i was pregnant - which i can t be due to a hysterectomy) sever gas, pains in the gi tract. after gluten free, my stomach is not extended, i don t have the gas issues, but I m still having those pudding, nasty smelling poos. they appear to be the right colour of brown. though they are a very dark brown. if that helps you. i did make an appointment to my doctor over this, but right now, I m having very bad mid back pain. its affecting my life and the plans i make. it takes me a few days after each pudding episode to get back on my feet. im sick of living like this. the past year i had heat exhaustion and exhaustion and 3 bouts of mrsa. I m getting a bit sick of being sick. please tell me what this is. I m so frustrated.

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Passage of soft large and bad smelling stools is suggestive of mal-absorption.
Mal-absorption can occur due to infection with Giardia (protozoa), fat mal-absorption most commonly.
A stool microscopic examination and fecal fat are required to look for infection and fat mal-absorption.
Management can be planned after these investigations.
After stool examination, consult a gastroenterologist for further action.
Back ache which you have reported can occur due to a number of causes like strain of back muscles due to wrong posture, disc protrusion or prolapse, pelvic inflammatory diseases etc.
I suggest you to consult an orthopedician initially to assess spinal cord and muscle related problems.
If no problem is detected then you can consult a gynecologist.
