What Causes Pain In Labia After Sexual Intercourse?

You most likely have irritation in your Bartholin's gland from chafing that occurs with sex. The Bartholin's glands are located to the left and right of the lower part of your vaginal opening. They are resposible for secreting mucus when you are aroused and they open into the vestibule (vaginal entrance) through small pores that are difficult to see. This is a link to an image of the anatomy: If the gland opening gets bruised or chafed from sex, the gland opening can get blocked and the gland can fill with mucus. That is most likely the liquid you feel swelling inside your labia.
To help prevent this from happening, use an external lubricant to prevent chafing and try to avoid bruising the area during sex. Soaking the area in warm water usually will make the gland open again and then the mucus will drain and the swelling goes down. If the gland gets hard and enlarged (like an egg) you may require drainage of the fluid which can be done in an emergency room or by a GYN doctor.
