What Causes Pain In Chest With Sensation Of Lumpy Throat?

I was having really bad heartburn for about a week. I had never had heartburn before. I thought it was something with my heart, so I went to the ER. They did an EKG and blood work and told me it was GERD. They gave me a prescription for nexium. I have been taking it for about a month and a half now. The heartburn is completely gone but I still have random little pains in my chest and a lump sensation in my throat sometimes. The anxiety of what could be wrong with me is driving me crazy. Normally I am not an anxious person, but every little twinge I feel I freak out. I also just have a feeling of being generally unwell. I have cut out all caffeine, soda, and have been eating healthier and not eating at least 3 hours before bed since diagnosed with the gerd. I have lost 21 pounds so far. The last few days i have noticed that my stool has been a dark brown/green color, but with really light colors mixed in. I feel like I m going crazy, because I don t feel normal.

Hi dear... May I know your age please.I think you are perfectly alright. Its a good thing about the lifestyle and food style habit change. Yes, you need to have your meals 3 hours before you sleep and stay upright to prevent reflux disease common in GERD patients.Dont be anxious, anxiety begets GERD, hyperacidity.Nexium and few other antacids are known to cause green stools. Its a harmless side effect. Continue your good lifestyle, drink lots of water, exercise and take in plenty of outdoor fresh air. All heartburns are not heart trouble. But its good you ruled out by getting an ecg done... positive thinking and keep yourself off worry.
