What Causes Pain In Chest And Arms After A Holter Monitor Test?

I have had two angiograms which were both clear, a halter monitor on for 24 hours, which showed a little irregularity but nothing extreme, several EKG s, several cat scans, and various other heart tests.. all clear. I continue to have chest pain which radiates across my chest and both arms. This has gone on for two months and the dr. just says that it is stress. I also have acid reflux and take medication for that. My dr. prescribed metotoprol 25 ml. after the heart monitor but still says that it is not my heart.. just anxiety.

Hi,

Your doctor seems right, as all these tests done for your heart do not show any abnormality. Therefore, it is more likely that, this pain may be just anxiety related symptoms. Also, this type of pain may be just due to postural / positional defects. Hence, try to improve your, sitting, lying & standing postures. Physiotherapy for maintaining good postures may be helpful.

Taking some tranquillizer and OTC analgesics for a short period under guidance of your doctor may help to resolve, your problem. However, if the problem persists or symptoms become more intense, even after these measures, then you are advised to consult an orthopedist for possible diagnosis and treatment accordingly.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
