What Causes Pain In Breast And Rough Nipples?

The other day I went out swimming, but my breasts started to hurt, and then I felt as if some discharge was happening, when I was bathing I notice the nipples have felt rough. I am only about to turn fourteen so I don t know if this is normal during puberty, or if it s serious. Please help.

Hi there, I have understood your concern and I will suggest you the best possible treatment options.

First of all do not panic.

Please not that any kind of breast secretions when you are not pregnant, should be dealt with seriously.

Please get USG of both breasts done and palpate your breasts with the your palm in standing and lying down position.

Blood prolactin levels will be help to know if the cause of breast secretions is raised prolactin levels.
If raised levels are found, it needs treatment with tablet Cabergoline, 0.5 mg twice a week for 4 weeks.

Also, if skin on the breasts is dry and itchy, please use a suitable moisturizer.
