What Causes Pain Below The Breast Along With Chest Congestion?
Sunday, pain in all joints and right below breastplate. Had chills with mild fever of 99 and vomitting later in the evening around midnight. After vomitting ended, chest congestion with wheezing/crackling and cough. Diahrea this morning but not since. Right now chest is tight and cough produces nothing. Nose is running now with occasional sneezing. I had pneumonia at the beginning of January (hospitalized for 3 days) and am hoping this is just a bad cold not a relapse.
It is possible that you may have a viral infection but it would be difficult to know at this stage.
With a history of pneumonia requiring hospitalization, it would be best however, to see someone as soon as possible to rule out more serious infection.
If it is viral only then medication to reduce your temperature (paracetamol or ibuprofen) along with a mucolytic (Eg mucomyst,, bisolvan, guaifenesin) to break up the mucus, may be needed. A decongestant would help with the nasal symptoms
I hope this helps
