What Causes Pain And Swelling Of The Right Eyes?

I woke up yesterday and my right eye was hurting. It feels like it is bruised. It tears up a lot. There appears to be no swelling. My right eye is now very sensitive to light and movement (especially upward movement). I do wear contacts. Any suggestions???

Hello
It seems from the history that you are having symptoms of pain, watering and sensitivity to light. Since you wear contact lenses, contact lenses induced infection has to be ruled out.
The treatment is by use of antibiotic eye drops and oral anti-inflammatory drugs. Contact lens use should be stopped till the symptoms are relieved.
Since contact lens induced infection can involve the cornea and cause keratitis, I advice you to consult your eye doctor for examination and treatment accordingly.

Thank you
