Hello my name is Mona. I am 24 yrs old female. yesterday I was diagnosed of keratitis from contact lenses not from excessive use but coz I didnâ??t follow hygiene procedure i.e. .never changed solution till it became very dirty, never replaced lenses till it started to itch and move inside my eye ,never boiled the cans, used to leave the solution open and always topped over the old solution ..yeap I did all that, but I learned my lesson now. my condition isnâ??t acute it is just uncomfortable: I have blurry vision and my eyelid is dropping down a little (like in sleepy eyes)any ways ,I am on drops now for 2 weeks( Tobradex and Naphcon-A),my q is, the doctor told me it is better I donâ??t use contacts again since the cornea(not mine.. cornea in general) may be vulnerable for having keratitis again but I am a model and in fashion biz so I really canâ??t NOT wear them again ,but I want to know if I followed the right procedures for having â??em (like changing them monthly ,boiling cans, not wear them more than 6-8 hours for 5 day a week),will that be ok for my cornea?. hi 2 days ago i developed a white dot on the pupil of my left eye, this is the second time it has happened. the first time the doctor gave me a eye ointment called chlorsig eye ointment it did work and the dot went away after a few days. the dot is really irrarting causes redness to my eyes and is sensative to the light. at first i thought it was because my contact lenses have been contaminted but i bought new lenses and it still happened. what is this white dot?

doctor1 MD

A white lesion on the cornea of the eye is called Keratitis and maybe either infective in nature or , in the case of contact lens use, a sterile infiltrate. Since an infective kerititis is more devastating if left untreated or undiagnosed, most lesions are considered to be infective till proven...

I looked at the eclipse a bunch of times today and I didn't realize you were supposed to make sure the ISO glasses truly block 100% of the light out. The way I wore them, a tiny bit of light was getting in from the top and bottom. I probably looked up 15 times for about 2 seconds. It was a partial eclipse where I am. How big of a risk is what I did?

doctor1 MD

Brief Answer:
Risk is there but minimal

Detailed Answer:

I have been battling herpes (1&2) for over a year now. My symptoms include almost total fatigue, random spots (coldsore-esk, not lesions). When I go outside I feel it activated within my body and my mind feels clouded, as if I cannot think. I have also started to feel strain in my eyes, which is blurring my vision. My primary care believes it to be psychological since I am on acyclovir, but I know something is definitely not right. Who should I talk to? Is there a doctor who specialized in Std viral infections when they might be progressing towards keratitis or encephalitis? Would the eye doctor and/or neurologist handle this?

Hello.
I am an 19 year old student. A week back, i was diagnosed with conjuctivitis. Doctor prescribed me CM Applicaps and Moxisurge. After four days, there was no improvement and my eyes were still red and there was irritation and pain. So i went to him again and he told me to stop that medication and use dexoren-s thrice a day. It didn work and aftr two days i went to him and told me to use refresh tears and keep using dexoren-s.
Still it did not cause any effect and i went to him. He now says cornea is also involved now.. it is viral keratitis.
He prescribed me refresh tears hourly , dexoren-s morning and night, and panthegel ointment that too morning and night.
Will this medicine work this time because im really getting tensed and frustrated.
Can i attend my college or should i stay back at home? How long will it take to cure this ?
Please help me
