What Causes Outbreak Of Eczema On The Buttock Of Child?

Hi, My son has a hard lump under an eczema break out on his butt check. It is not on the surface. The size is that of a quarter. Most would wait to seek medical attention to see how it progresses, however my son has Hyper IGE syndrome and is more susceptible to infections. Should I be taking him in asap? (He has an IVIG infusion tomorrow which does always help with anything he has going on at the time) Is this something we could wait a few days for? Thanks Danielle

Hi,

If your son has Hyper IGE syndrome and is more susceptible to infections. He should see is doctor ASAP (especially so if he has history of constipation). As by the time he gets his routine IV infusion. The knot may get infected and cause harm to his health. Starting the suitable antibiotic, anti-inflammatory drugs followed by routine IVIG would hasten healing.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
