What Causes Orange Discharge From Nose During Cold?

Daughter has orange drainage coming from her nose? She is 13, 5'5, 110lbs, no major health issues other than scoliosis in which she wears a night time brace. She is recencently getting over a cold, but I have never seen mucus in the color of watery orange juice.

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi, thanks for your query.
Watery orange coloured secretion can be mostly drug induced. (Rifampicin).
second probable cause can be blood stained mucous, common firing cold attack.
If I were your treating doctor, I would have prescribed decongestant nasal drops for the nose 3 drops thrice daily for evaluation day.
Treat cold sith antihistamines + mucolytics combination drugs.
Do steam inhalation.
If she is on any drug, like Rifampicin, don't worry, it's side effect of the drug.once the drug is stopped the discolouration disappears.
