What Causes Numbness On The Right Side Of The Body?
Whenever I lie down on the right side of my body, my right ear immediately goes numb. I can t feel it at all. It happens Every time and usually comes back to normal after 2-3 minutes. I have been listening to a lot of music through my earphones lately. I can hear some screeching noises in my ear when it s on the verge of getting to normal. I wake up everyday with a numb right ear if I ve slept on the right side of my body. Is it a major issue and should I get it checked by an ent specialist ?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi, Thanks for the query. I understand your concern. Your problem seems to be due to hampering nerve suply to right ear... while tou lie down on right side. This can happen due to spinal or disc problem in cervical spine. Consultation of an orthopedic dictor & X ray/MRI of cervical spine would pin point the cause ... followed by needful treatment advice by the e pert. (It could be Physiotherapy ,pain medicines, steroid local injection orr surgery in few cases) Thanks
