What Causes Numbness In The Lower Legs?

I am concerned, and feel silly. For the past three years I have been experiencing random numbness, especially in extremities. I bartend, and have dropped a bottle because I couldn t feel it. I also experience that in my lower legs. Phantom pain (extreme pain) or tingles is part of everyday life. Each day, about 1:30, exhaustion hits like a tsunami, regardless of how I slept. I thought I was overworked, crazy, and pathetic. Until I realized my Mother, who had MS, said the same things. Could I this also? Or something else? I m miserable, and want my life back. At least not to be in pain and to be able to work.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The numbness may be caused by a multivitamin deficiency. You should start on some multivitamin and calcium and should feel better in a few days.

But tell her to continue it till 2-3 months. Also, if possible get a CBC blood test done to find her haemoglobin and if that low tells her to start with an Iron +folic acid tablet. She will recover from this soon.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Ivan R. Rommstein, General Surgeon
