Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disease and can have additional other diseases like vasculitis and so on. As you know, steroid is the mainstay of treatment in such autoimmune diseases. But long term steroids have their own problems like effects on metabolism, supra-renal gland suppression, calcium and vitamin D deficiency causing other problems. Hence I would advise further as follows in such a case:
Get the blood tested for calcium, vitamins and get supplements as per the reports to support the healing system of body.

The numbness in limbs is caused by multiple factors that can be diagnosed on clinical evaluation, examination and investigations, factors to be corrected as per the diagnosis and get treated accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,

Dr. T Chandrakant
