What Causes Numbness In The Legs And Feet?

One week ago I had a lumbar spinal epidural. This morning I woke up & both legs & feet were completely asleep. As the day goes on I keep feeling pins & needles in my legs & feet. My lower back near tailbone is burning. Is it OK to see my doctor Monday, or do I need to go to urgent care?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Regarding your concern, I would explain that your symptoms could be related to a local infection. For this reason, I recommend going to the ER for a physical exam and some tests:
- A lumbar spine CT scan or MRI
- Complete blood count, PCR, ESR
- Blood electrolytes.

Hope to have been helpful!
Wishing good health,
Dr. Iliri
