What Causes Numbness In Legs With Normal Test Report?

My daughter and a friend are studying abroad in France. The friend (20 y/o) had sudden onset of numbness in both legs to the point of almost not being able to walk, diffulty concentrating, acting strangely, difficulty with hand grip. They went to a hospital where they kept her overnight and ran some tests but said they could find nothing wrong and sent her home. she is feeling somewhat better now (1 day later) but still having numbness but my daughter thinks she is minimizing her symptoms. Her mother has MS. My daughter is not sure what to do. Should she try to find a different hospital or just wait and see if she gets better? The hospital they went to said that didn t know what multiple sclerosis was but I think there was some language barrier.

Physical Therapist or Physiotherapist 's  Response
Hi,

She needs to visit another hospital where there is not much language barrier and get an extensive neurological examination done.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
