What Causes Numbness In Arms When Suffering From Degenerative Disc Disease?

I have degenerative disc disease and spinal stenosis. I fractured my c2 a year ago and the recommended treatment was a 5 disc fusion. with pain meds and daily stretching I decided to wait it out. I was dealing with the pain but 3 weeks ago I was getting headaches from the back of my head up to my ears. Then the right side of my face, head and ear was going numb, it reminded me of novacaine from the dentist. Today both my arms from my elbows to my hands went numb and I had no strength in them at all. all of this is intermintent.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello
I have studied your case.
If there is progressive neurological involvement then it is better to operate soon.
Till time take neurotropic medication like pregabalin and methylcobalamine consulting your doctor.
Physiotherapy like ultrasound and Tens may help.
Another approach is root block injection.
I hope I have answered your questions. If you have further questions please feel free to contact us. I will be happy to answer. Take care.
