General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It is due to collection of blood in the muscular compartment which causes nerve irritation and symptoms.

In most cases it will resolve by itself by four to six weeks. You can go for an ultrasound scan to assess the size of the hematoma, it the hematoma is very large, surgical aspiration may be needed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family physician
