What Causes Numbness And Bruise On The Shin After An Injury?

I m a football coach. 3 weeks ago, I had a face mask hit my right shin. It became swollen immediately, but it went down overnight. 3 weeks later, the bruise is still there, there is numbness to the affected area, and it has been warm to the touch at times.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

As shin get swollen immediately after the injury. So kindly do X-ray after orthopedician consultation. If X-ray will be normal then bruise will go slowly within 10 to 15 days.

You can take tab. tylenol for pain and apply thrombophob ointment after consultation. Do you have fever, difficulty in walking? Follow up with detailed history. take rest.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
