What Causes Needle Pain While Coughing In A Bronchitis Patient?

I have bronchtis.
A few days ago, when I cough or sneeze, my whole upper body gets extreme burning and needle pain that is intolerable. I have been taking ibuprofene every 2 hours to try to remedy it, but does not always work.
Started the same day I started on the antibiotic.

Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Chest pain (needle type) on coughing in bronchitis patient is mostly due to pleurisy (inflammation of pleura).
And most common cause for pleurisy is infection.
So possibility of lower respiratory tract infection (LRTI) is more in your case.
So get done chest x ray to rule out LRTI.
You may need antibiotics too along with ibuprofen.
Better control of bronchitis is also needed.
So start inhaled bronchodilators and inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) for better control in bronchitis.
Don't worry, you will be alright.
Hope I have solved your query.
I will be happy to help you further.
Wish you good health. Thanks.
