What Causes Nausea And Vomiting Post Intake Of Bactrim?

I was prescribed Bactim for a bacteria infection that is on both arms. I was prescribed two pills a day. Today, was the third day. I took the pill with a glass of water. I had a cup of coffee, and soon began to feel nauseous. I tried eating some cereal, which I threw up shortly after. Then I made some chicken broth and three that up a couple for hours later. I am planning on eating some oatmeal shortly, and Han take the second one, but Im leery and need to take some type of antibiotic to get rid of this infection. Should I continue to take the Bactim?

Bactrim is a combination of two anitibiotics that treat different type of infection. Bactrim has several side effects of uncertain frequency, but the most common are anorexia, nausea and vomiting, vertigo, diarrhea, myalgy (muscle ache), rash. So vomiting in your case can be from the use of bactrim, but it would have been present earlier since the first or second day, or at least nausea would have preceded. If the vomiting perssists, you should see your doctor. I can't name another antibiotic to substitute bactrim, for as long as i don't know which infection is in question. So in my opinion, if you vomit again after taking the next dose you must check with your doctor.
