Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am 28 years old, female. I have been feeling nausea and having heart burn for the past 4 days. I have been taking over the counter meds..Pepto, etc. and can't shake this. I have got sick twice and the first time it was all black, kinda goopy. I do not think I am pregnant, I have the Mirana in and have had it for 1 1/2 yrs. Do you think it is a bug? I am concerned b/c I have never felt this nausea for this long...and also the black vomit??
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic. I can understand your concern. In my opinion, we should definitely rule out peptic ulcer in your case. Black colored vomiting is hemetemesis. Nausea, epigastric pain and hemetemesis are commonly seen with peptic ulcer. It is also common with Mirena. So better to consult gastroenterologist and get done upper GI (gastrointestinal) scopy to diagnose peptic ulcer. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
