Hi, I hit the back left side of my head pretty hard on Thursday and felt nauseated the day after while exercising. Since then I've been feeling okay except when reading or doing work when the side I hit begins to ache. I hate going to hospital unless necessary. Do you think I should in this case? Thanks!

Emergency Medicine Specialist, Dr. Prathap's Response
1 week post head injury with no major head injury signs like loss of consciousness, vomiting, seizures, giddiness, ear/nasal bleed is not a major problem. pain is mainly due to soft tissue injury which will subside gradually. take pain killer for pain and if the any other symptom occurs then visit a doctor. Avoid tramadol for pain as it might cause vomiting or giddiness which will overlap with head injury symptoms.
