I am 58 and for the last year or so I feel so bloated all the time I don t eat very much. I am 5 6 and weigh 126. I am so umcomfortable that I makes work difficult and the rest of my life also. I am not constipated. I do have barretts esophagus but it is under control. This also keeps me from drinking enough water. and then if I don t drink enough water I get severe Charlie horses at night any ideas?
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic. I can understand your concern. By your history and description, possibility of GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease) is more likely. Barret esophagus can cause GERD. Constipation also worsen GERD. So do following things for better symptomatic relief in GERD. 1. Avoid hot and spicy food. Avoid junk food. Avoid large meals, instead take frequent small meals. Eat high fiber diet like pulses, vegetables and fruits. 2. Take pantoprazole and levosulperide combination on empty stomach twice daily. 3. Avoid stress and tension, be relax and calm. 4. Quit smoking and alcohol if you have these habits. Don't worry, you will be alright with all these. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
