Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Muscle Pain In The Neck And Shoulders Along With Indigestion?
Yes . I am a 55 year old female and think I may have overdone it shoveling and lifting bags and boxes over the past 3 weeks. For the past 4 days I have experienced muscle pain in my neck shoulders and right side of my chest along with indigestion, especially after I eat. Could these be heart symptoms?
If the neck and shoulder pain is worse and touch and head movement very likely it is a muscular pain and is not related to the heart problems. Indigestion seems to not be related to the neck and shoulder pain though. To help with pain you can take paracetamol and ibuprofen (after food to not worsen indigestion) and also you can put local warm compresses. You can take omeprazole for the indigestion. If no improvement in 2-3 days or any worsening please see your doctor.
If the pain on the neck or shoulders is not worse on touch or head movements then it maybe related to heart problems and you will need a visit with your doctor to make sure.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj General & Family Physician
