What Causes Missed Periods?

Hi, I stopped having periods a year ago and I m waiting for an appointment to see a gynaecologist. I ve used a slendertone belt twice now and both times it has caused pain in my right side and then I suffer bleeding immediately after. I am 36 years old and the doctors have checked my hormones levels and I am not going through early menopause

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi

Since premature menopause has been ruled out, other causes of delayed periods should be ruled out.

Other causes of hormonal imbalance such as Hypothyroidism and Polycystic ovaries and diabetes should be ruled out.

Sudden increase in physical activity, severe dieting or weight loss and extreme stress can also cause delayed periods.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards
