What Causes Missed Periods Inspite Of Taking Primolut?

Hi Doctor. I had premenopausal bleeding after 2 years of no period. I am 50 years old. I was given Primolut by my OB to be taken for 10 days. Today is just the 7th day and I started bleeding again. I am supposed to expect bleeding 5 days after taking the 10th tablet. Should I see her immediately or wait till I finished the medication?

well if i understand clearly, you were amenorrhoeic for two years continuously, that made you post menopausal and no more premenopausal.absence of menses for 1 year is criteria for menopause. if you had spontaneous bleeding after 2 years of gap, then its post menopausal bleeding and its is not healthy to have a post menopausal bleeding.
main concern is cervical cancer or cancer endometrium.
get your gynae exam done and a PAP SMEAR, and endometrial sampling fo rhpe after an ultrasound TVS) for endometrial thickness. i feel primolut n was a wrong treatment offered and shouldnt have been given at all.
regards
