General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for your query.I understand your concern.
When you have thyroid problem.. which causes period irregularities, you should get specific drugs for controlling thyroid condition... this will regularise your periods too (which is essential for conception.)I advise for-
-blood hcg to exclude /confirm pregnancy & get a gynecologist's advise for further planning.
-repeat thyroid function tests. Consult an endocrinologist for sp0ecific medication.
-Once the periods get normal... you should plan fir pregnancy.
Thanks.
