What Causes Mild Pain In Ribs Along With Distended Feeling?

I was purging because I binged and the purging was a little more violent than usual; and I just noticed a couple hours after when I suck in a dull pain on the upper left aide of my ribs. I know it isn t my heart. And it also feels a little bit like ny left rib cage is distended. I don t know what it is but the pain isn t bad.

Hi there.

It is possible you are suffering from gastritis or ulcer in the stomach. I advise you to avoid consuming hot, spicy, irritant foods and fluids, avoid smoking and drinking alcohol. Consume curds, antacids, green leafy vegetables. Avoid lying down immediately after eating meals, but rather wait for about half an hour before lying down. You can also take Sucralfate syrup for relief. I suggest you get an upper GI endoscopy after getting a consult by your Gastroenterologist as this will be a proper way to diagnose your problem and find the necessary appropriate treatment.
