What Causes Lump At The Base Of An Abscessed Tooth?
I had a tooth abcess back in September. I took antibiotics but never had further treatment on my tooth. I still have a hard lump at the base of the tooth on the gum. Is it still abcessed or is this something like scar tissue that built up in the same spot?
Hello thank you for your question at healthcare magic In this condition I would suggest my patient to have x- ray of the region. So that I can have better idea what exactly it is. At the same time I would like to know more that is that hard mass paining you now ? Second do you see any bleeding or pus discharge from it at any times. and best option will be consult a nearby dentist so that he can see the condition clinically and give better idea. You can ask for further solution of confusion or advice. Thank you.
Read your query, as you have lump at the base of the tooth this lump can be due to formation of abscess , granuloma due to infection present at the present the tip of root , I will suggest you to consult dentist and go for Root canal treatment or extraction of tooth . In meantime do warm saline rinses , you abscess you can take a course of antibiotics like Amoxicillin or Ofloxacine by consulting with your doctor. Consult Oral surgeon and go for its treatment .
Hope this will help you. Wishing you good health.
