Hi!
Welcome to HCM!
I can understand your concern.
The dose for Vitamin D is very large.
The recommended dietary allowance for adult is about 600 international unit/day.
Doctors may prescribe higher doses to treat medical conditions such as vitamin D deficiency, diabetes, and
cardiovascular disease. However, these prescription doses are only meant to be taken for a short period of time. High-dose vitamin D taken for several months has been shown to be toxic resulting in
hypervitaminosis D intoxication which can cause
constipation, raised body temperature,
abdominal pain, loss of appetite, fatigue, etc.
Besides,
Verapamil is also known to cause constipation as one of its major side effect.
So in your case both the drugs are known to cause constipation.
You are advised to kindly consult the doctor for further evaluation and management.
Regards!
