I thank you for your time- I have been on 40 mg of omeprazole after a diagnosis of diverticulosis, I am wondering after seeing a P.A Recently why my platelets keep dropping- I am allergic to sulfa and read omeprazole contains small amount of sulfa- so I do feel better being off the omeprazole- I do have a dr apt- but I guess I am wondering if sulfa in the omeprazole I should continue to take, but am taking 1 billion probiotic like every other day, & feel better as omeprazole didn t make my stomach feel well- I hope I am making sense- I cared for my Mother for almost 3 years, she recently passed & also my sister- so have had a tremendous amount of stress, weight loss, etc.. and didn t take care of my eating habits- guess I am just confused & curious as to why the doctor would put me on omeprazole- even if there is a small amount of sulfa, it still seems to bother my stomach, where probiotics don t.
